Consultation Process for Mersey Forest Plan
In 2014, The Mersey Forest group carried out an extensive consultation and engagement process with a wide range of stakeholders in the Mersey Forest region. This work was funded by the EU Interreg IVB GIFT-T! project. The process involved meeting with core partners and the wider community, in both formal and informal settings, to discuss the needs and opportunities for improved forest management in the area, and to contribute to the revised version of The Mersey Forest Plan. An online web-map was also produced, where people can share ideas and views about which woodlands are valuable to them, where trees are needed and how to improve existing wooded areas.
